Feb 23, 2026
Learn how to draw a beaver with simple step-by-step pictures that help kids sketch this busy woodland animal with ease.
Step 1: Draw an oblique, short straight line to create that fluffy top part of the head of the beaver.

Step 2: Create two curved ear outline lines- one on the left and the other on the right, both coming out of the end of the line.

Step 3: Starting from the left eye, draw your left ear downwards with a slight jagged, hairy edge.

Step 4: Draw the left side of your head down from the right ear using the same sharp edge. It is a furry edge.

Step 5: Draw a long, flowing line along the bottom of your head to smooth it out, and then close it to form the shape of your head.

Step 6: Incorporate the inner ear detail by drawing small curves in both ears.

Step 7: Draw two lines that are curved to represent the eyes closed. Then add the nose and the smiling mouth (with the tiny mouth).

Step 8: On the left side, draw a long, curving line that goes down to mark the beginning of the beaver's back and its body.

Step 9: Draw the belly's big, round curve to the left and right of the outside, then draw a shorter, jagged, furry line along the inner edge.

Step 10: Draw a long, curving line down the leg to create the lower body, then connect it to the rear leg.

Step 11: The front paw should be drawn by placing the tummy on your paw by using small bumps for the toes.

Step 12: Draw a small twig on its paws, draw the stick, and then add a few leaf-like shapes at the bottom.

Step 13: Draw the left paw of the beaver with the twig, and add small hand shapes with bumps on the fingers.

Step 14: Add two feet to the bottom. Draw feet that are flat and rounded on the body.

Step 15: Draw the whisker lines along both cheeks. Add to the line of the arm on the right and draw the lines of the toes on the feet.

Step 16: Draw a tail-shaped shape behind the body. It's a long, wide oval set in the dirt.

Step 17: Create diagonal stripes across the end of the tail.

Step 18: The tail can be finished with diagonal lines that cross to create the criss-cross pattern.

Step 19: Draw two oval eyes on your face.

Step 20: Incorporate the pupils in each eye, and make them appear larger with a tiny white shine.

Step 21: Complete the eyes by darkening them neatly, then add the final highlights to make them appear adorable and bright.
