How to Draw a Lake Scenery – Easy Nature Landscape for Kids

Peaceful water, gentle hills, and soft trees come together as kids follow simple steps to create a beautiful lake scene.
Step 1: Draw a tree's trunk using the naked branches, and then draw a rough ground line in front of it.
Step 2: Imagine a huge, fluffy, cloud-like treetop around the branches.
Step 3: Include a few tiny, curved "leaf" on the treetop to add texture.
Step 4: Make two tiny ovals in the ground in the vicinity of the base of the tree.
Step 5: Make a curved, bumpy shoreline or mound between the rocks, and sketch some more stones.
Step 6: Draw a long, straight horizontal line across the length of your box (this is the lake's waterline).
Step 7: Draw a small bushy shape to the left, perched on the line of the horizon.
Step 8: Create a slanted shoreline starting from the leftover bush to create the edge of the land.
Step 9: Draw an extended, bumpy line of ground across the front. Then, add one small grass tuft at the centre.
Step 10: Two rounded bumps are sketched on the left (small stones or bushes) near the front left.

Step 12: Create a cloud-like, fluffy bush on the right towards the horizon, close to the tree.
Step 13: Make a small, wavy line that is bumpy on the outer shoreline (behind the lake) to create an elongated bush.
Step 14: Create an additional hill in the background by drawing a smooth, curved line that rises to an edifice and then falls back to the ground behind the shrubs.
Step 15: Draw a second hill to the left. Start at the left bushes before bending upwards into an even higher peak, and then curve downwards until you reach the hill's other line.
Step 16: Create the left shoreline bush larger by the short, bumpy, wavy edge. Then draw the two tiny grass tufts toward the lower part of the image.
Step 17: Create a lotus at the centre of the lake. Draw small curly petals in circles, and then put a layer of petals on top.
Step 18: Create a lily pad beneath the lotus. Create an oval-shaped flat surface with several curved lines inside and around it to highlight the pad and gentle water ripples.
Step 19: Draw another lotus on the left edge of the lake. Draw the petals that curve in a flower-like shape, and then place an oval-shaped flower pad underneath it.
Step 20: Create water ripples along the left shoreline by drawing some long lines, which are swept inwards across the lake.
Step 21: Create short broken horizontal lines across the water (one placed near the end of the bank and another set in the centre) to show gentle waves.
Step 22: Draw two tiny fluffy clouds above the hills.
Step 23: Complete the scene by drawing the final outlines carefully (keep the best lines), and your lake's scenery is completed.
