How to Draw a Snowman Drawing – Step-by-Step Worksheet for Kids

Kids can learn how to draw a snowman step by step by following simple illustrations that turn circles and shapes into a fun winter drawing.

Step 1: Draw a small cloud-like shape, leaving it unclosed.

Step 2: Draw a semicircle just below the small cloud you just drew.

Step 3: Again, add a layer of curved lines just below the semicircle.

Step 4: Now, let's draw the face of the snowman with a semicircle just below the cap you have already drawn. Also, leave a small space on the right side of that semicircle, as shown in the image.

Step 5: Using some lines, draw the scarf flap on the space left on the snowman's face.

Step 6: Draw the scarf around the snowman's neck, as shown in the image, using curved lines.

Step 7: Add one more flap of the scarf just under the one that you have just drawn. And add some detailing at the end of the flap you drew first.

Step 8: Use a few small curved lines along the lower portion of the snowman's cap and scarf, near the neck.

Step 9: Now draw a semicircle for a snowball, just below the scarf of the snowman, for its body.

Step 10: Let's draw two hands of a snowman [which are made of twigs], as shown in the image.

Step 11: Again, add a bid circle-like shape just below the one you have drawn last.

Step 12: Add small circles inside the snowballs that you have drawn now.

Step 13: Now, add some snow around the snowman as given in the image.

Step 14: Draw the top of a christmas tree just beside the right hand of the snowman, as shown in the image.

Step 15: Draw a second layer of the christmas tree.

Step 16: Now draw the third layer of the christmas tree.

Step 17: Draw the final layer of the X'mas tree and a curved line under that.

Step 18: Start drawing a Christmas tree on the left side as well.

Step 19: Add the second layer of the X, mas tree.

Step 20: Now draw the third layer.

Step 21: Add the last layer, and a curved line just under it.

Step 22: Now draw a falling, flower-shaped snowflake on the right side, just beside the snowman's head.

Step 23: Repeat the same on the left side, and draw a small flower-star-like shape near the first one.

Step 24: Draw a long nose, two eyebrows, and the mouth of the snowman as in the image.

Step 25: Add two small circles for the eyes.

Step 26: Now darken the eyeballs.

Step 27: Your cute snowman drawing is ready. Color it as you wish and showcase your art!

'Stack, Smile, and Snowball Style: A Playful Guide to Drawing the Happiest Snowman"

In the depths of winter, what is more magical than seeing happy snowmen in the wild? Snowmen are easy to draw, even for kids. In minutes, children can make frosty friends using a few simple shapes. No wonder drawing snowmen is a favourite activity of children, families, and teachers everywhere.

At Monkey Pen, we provide step-by-step drawing worksheets and how-to-draw videos that are simple enough to follow. We are going to offer children the opportunity to explore snowman drawing in a way that lets them make their own.

Let's begin our adventure into the world of snow art!

Snowman is indeed a great choice because they are built using simple shapes. Most kids can draw snowmen, since their main component is a circle – one of the first shapes children are taught to draw, just like following how to draw santa.

If you draw a snowman and one of the circles is smaller than the one next to it, it doesn't matter. If the circles are all a little bit wobbly, that is totally okay. A snowman will still look great, and it will still make it a fun activity. Kids can enjoy the activity without the added pressure of perfection.

Drawing tutorials on how to make a snowman for children are popular with parents, given how easy they are:

Did you know the tallest snowman was taller than 12 stories? Can you imagine how big that is to try to draw?

  • Don't Draw Body Parts. Draw Snowballs.
  • When teaching kids how to draw a snowman, a good approach is to use the snowball method. Snowballs stack. That's all.
  • Kids understand this thinking quickly.
  • One snowball at the bottom.
  • One snowball in the middle.
  • One on top.

That's all there is to drawing it – no silly, complicated rules. In drawing demonstrations, this stacking idea is the primary focus. It helps teach the kids to follow along in the drawing without giving too many instructions.

It isn't over until the snowman gets a face.

When kids are drawing snowmen, teaching them how to make a face is a great way to show them how to make frowns, smiles, and other expressions.

  • Note all the fun ways a snowman can look!
  • A giant snowman's smile!
  • A blush smile!
  • A snowman looked surprised!
  • The snowman looked tired!
  • A snowman wink!

In storybooks, snowmen are often drawn with coal for eyes and a carrot for the nose. A true snowman eye and nose pair can be made with household items found in the winter! If kids want a cuter look, they can draw snowmen with round cheeks, smiley mouths, and button noses, or enjoy related activities like free dot to dot printables. A snowman can be fun with or without a face.

A snowman with clothes is awesome!

Imagination blooms when drawing. It becomes even more exciting when drawing a snowman with:

  • A drawing of a snowman hat
  • Snowman's scarf.
  • Snowman with giant boots
  • Snowman with funny earmuffs.
  • Snowman with a patterned scarf.

Old hats and scarves are often put on snowmen in icy places. Some people even give their snowmen names. Adding clothes can make your snowman drawing step-by-step more interesting for older kids.

Why Snowman Drawing Videos Are Awesome

Easy-to-follow tutorials are great for snowman art because the shape is easy to build. Kids are patient, and parents don't take long. With a snowman drawing video, parents can show kids how to make a snowman drawing, and kids can make a snowman drawing video using drawing tutorials step by step.

A snowman drawing video would show:

  • The picture was completed first to get the kids excited.
  • The three snowball shapes.
  • The snowman's head
  • The winter accessories.
  • Finally, the happy reveal
  • Kids can pause the drawing and draw at their own speed.

Children and Drawing Worksheets

Drawing videos encourage kids to try something else. That's where a worksheet and snowman drawing video come into play.

Children's snowman worksheets can include:

  • Circles to trace
  • The snowman's head is missing a face.
  • A hat for them to draw.
  • A scarf pattern for them to design.
  • A section for them to colour and decorate.

Worksheets can give kids confidence and funding, and help younger kids who are learning to control a pencil. Many parents use snowman drawing worksheets as calming activities before bed.

A Snowman for Everyone

The best part about snowman art is how it can be unique to the person. It's great that no two snowman art pieces have to be alike! When a kid asks how to draw a snowman, the best answer is: Start with snowballs, and add joy to the snowman! Drawing is not about perfect lines. It is about play, just like exploring free children's colouring pages.

And who knows, maybe the snowman drawing will spark a lifelong passion for drawing.
