How to Make Flying Ladybug
How to make a flying ladybug: step-by-step description
Step 1: Make a long piece of light blue newspaper.

Step 2: Fold the strip of paper in half.

Step 3: Make sure to fold the upper corner downwards diagonally.

Step 4: Fold the top corner inwards to form a small triangle.

Step 5: Fold the fold slightly.

Step 6: Carefully fold the folds to form small, pointed shapes.

Step 7: Release the strip carefully and make a small fold in the middle.

Step 8: Fold the strip again flat.

Step 9: Fold the bottom portion upwards to form a crease.

Step 10: The folded strip should be placed in the middle of a white circle (this will serve as your background).

Step 11: Make a circle of red paper.

Step 12: Divide the red circle into two.

Step 13: Now you will have the two red semicircles.

Step 14: Use glue on one semicircle of red.

Step 15: Place it on the opposite side of the folded strip.

Step 16: Attach the second semicircle to the opposite side of the circle to create the wings of the ladybird.

Step 17: Lift the folded top slightly to allow the wings to open and close.

Step 18: Cut and draw two small wing shapes out of yellow paper.

Step 19: These are the ladybird's wings.

Step 20: Apply glue, then stick the yellow wings under the red wings.

Step 21: Attach the yellow wings carefully beneath the red wings.

Step 22: Lift the top strip gently to verify that the wings can be opened and closed.

Step 23: Use a black marker to draw the ladybird's head in the centre.

Step 24: Draw the head and two curly antennae.

Step 25: Cut any excess paper if required to make the design tidy.

Step 26: Make sure to press all the pieces down so that they adhere together.

Step 27: Remove the upper strip, then apply glue beneath it.

Step 28: Put it in place so that the mechanism for flying is secured.

Step 29: Create two small white circles for the eyes. Press them into place.

Step 30: Draw black pupils in the eyes.

Step 31: Use an eyedropper made of cotton (or a pencil tip) to create small white highlights on your eyes.

Step 32: Create black dots on both of your red wings.

Step 33: Make a small amount of green paper to make leaves.

Step 34: Cut the paper into leaf forms.

Step 35: Prepare three or two leaves.

Step 36: Apply glue to the leaves.

Step 37: Put the leaves on the background to embellish your flying ladybirds. Your ladybird-flying craft is now finished and is ready to fly!
