How to Draw Braids – Easy Hairstyle Drawing for Kids

Twisting strands and woven patterns come together as kids learn to sketch braids using flowing lines and simple steps.

Step 1: Draw two curved lines for the top of the head.

Step 2: Make small wavy lines along both sides.

Step 3: Continue to draw the hairline downwards.

Step 4: Draw a line that is central to the parting of the hair and two hair sections.

Step 5: Begin the right braid by making small, curved bumps.

Step 6: Begin the braid on the left side in the same manner.

Step 7: Make sure to extend both braids downwards with more smooth bumps.

Step 8: Make a bow at the beginning of the  right braid.

Step 9: Create a bow to match the braid to the left.

Step 10: Small hair ends should be added below each bow.

Step 11: Draw a curving line for the upper and lower back as well as the neck.

Step 12: Sketch the right shoulder and sleeve.

Step 13: Draw the left shoulder and sleeve.

Step 14: Simple arm lines should be added below the sleeves.

Step 15: Draw curly hair strands on the right upper section of the girl's head.

Step 16: Create more curving strands above them.

Step 17: Begin braiding the right side from the top, using small overlapping curves.

Step 18: Continue to braid the right side down.

Step 19: Complete the lower portion of the right braid.

Step 20: Curly hair strands should be drawn in the left upper section.

Step 21: Make more flowing strands on the left side.

Step 22: Start the braid on the left side from the top.

Step 23: Continue the braid by overlaying curved sections.

Step 24: Complete the lower portion of the left braid.

Step 25: Make additional curly lines near the top of hair.

Step 26: Make small hairlines curved in the back of the head.

Step 27: Make sure to add details to loose hair ends that fall below the bows.

Step 28: Create the neckline, sleeve lines of the t-shirt and the small bow centre details.

Step 29: Include t-shirt and sleeve details.

Step 30: Finalise the drawing by examining the lines and adding clean details. Now color your drawing using your favourite colors!
