How to Draw a Chariot – Step-by-Step Historical Vehicle Drawing for Kids

Step 1: Start with the horse’s head along with ears and the front part of the face.

Step 2: Add the straps around its face and head.

Step 3: Include the nostrils, muzzle and harness details.

Step 4: Add the long mane behind its head.

Step 5: Draw two big curves from the bridle towards the back to show the reins.

Step 6: Draw two circular curves, one below the other, that indicate the horse’s neck and collar.

Step 7: Make a long chariot shaft extending backwards from the horse’s neck.

Step 8: Below the collar, draw another two circular curves that indicate the hanging strap. Don’t forget to include a chest harness that looks like a sharp, curved needle.

Step 9: Extend a curved line at the back to form the horse’s rear body. Then add the back leg along with its hoof.

Step 10: Add one of the front legs that is raised slightly.

Step 11: Now include the other front leg that is straight.

Step 12:  Make the lower bodyline and the straps around the belly portion.

Step 13: Complete the other hind leg and hoof.

Step 14: Attach a long, flowing tail at the back.

Step 15: Build the chariot’s upper edge behind the horse.

Step 16: Design the upper frame and attach short supports hanging below it.

Step 17: Under the supports, draw a large oval with an inner oval for the wheel.

Step 18: Make a curved rim besides the outer oval.

Step 19:  Construct the lower frame using two horizontal lines. 

Step 20: Add several spokes to the wheel and make the wheel’s centre.

Step 21:  Draw the inner edge of the wheel’s back portion.

Step 22:  Construct the large, curved panel of the chariot and its vertical support.

Step 23: Along the upper frame of the chariot, draw a few circular decorations.

Step 24:  Draw another horse’s head with ears and neck. Don’t forget to sketch the face outline.

Step 25: Straps are added surrounding the head and face.

Step 26: Its muzzle, nostril and harness details are added.

Step 27: Draw curved reins to connect the first and second horses.

Step 28: Sketch the second horse’s mane and neck.

Step 29: Make the collar area of the horse. Then circular straps are added under the collar with circular harness decorations.

Step 30: Sketch the hanging straps around the chest area.

Step 31: Add the front legs; one is straight and the other is raised.

Step 32: Now include the back legs too, along with the hooves.

Step 33: The eyes and other facial details are added.

Step 34: Build a tall flagpole extending above the chariot.

Step 35: Make a rectangular waving flag that is attached at the top of the flagpole.

Step 36: A classic chariot is ready.
