How to sketch a Chinese lantern easily? Monkey Pen guide is here to help you.

Step 2: Next, draw a small half rectangle.

Step 3: Then make an arch below the half-rectangle.

Step 4: Give your arch a flat base.

Step 5: Extend short lines vertically followed by a horizontal line, that looks like a rectangle.

Step 6: Make the central part of lantern by drawing the sides. Let’s start with the right side that look like a sliding half-rectangle.

Step 8: Draw a rectangular base.

Step 9: Draw a tiny curve under the base.

Step 10: Add embellishments that hang vertically.

Step 12: On the central portion of the lantern, draw straight lines that pass horizontally within.

Step 13: Draw the inner edges vertically, just like the outer edges, which are half-rectangles.

Step 14: Add gently curved lines that fall under the arch.

Step 15: Below it, make a few small rectangular shapes.

Step 16: Inside them, include thin films of rectangles.

Step 17: Don’t forget to add ball shapes in the form of triangles within every segment of the upper portion of the lantern.

Step 18: Place tiny circles in a triangular format from the bottom portion of the lantern.

Step 19: Next, make rectangles right below the triangles. (Refer to step 15)

Step 20: It’s time to create few thin rectangles inside them.

Step 21: A decorative Chinese lantern is ready.
