Alert ears and bushy tails help bring this clever wilderness animal to life with a few simple drawing steps.

Step 1: Start with its ears, which are long and triangular.

Step 2: Start drawing the outside of the ears; make it look thick.

Step 3: Next, draw the left face with spikes.

Step 4: Draw another set of pointed spikes creating the right face with the extension to the neck.

Step 5: You may now draw the left neck part also.

Step 6: Now add its nose in a rounded triangular shape and draw a square mouth like U with slight curve.

Step 7: Add eyebrows along with curves to define the face.

Step 8: Draw inner parts of its ear with spikes vertically joined together.

Step 9: Now sketch the back body using gentle spikes.

Step 10: Now make its front body with a few curving spikes.

Step 11: Stretch one of the front legs so it is long, straight and narrow.

Step 12: Draw the other front leg also which is narrow.

Step 13: Draw the lower body ahead and behind the front leg.

Step 14: Now draw the hind leg, which is little short and curved at the front while bent at the back.

Step 15: Sketch the other hind leg with thick thigh.

Step 16: Create its fluffy tail at the back using spikes in the form of a long-curved line extending downwards.

Step 17: Complete the tail which is thick.

Step 18: Add spikes vertically within the body, slightly above the front leg and the back leg.

Step 19: Include tiny vertical lines in the hind legs and provide its toes with little stripes.

Step 20: Draw tiny eyes in the shape of ovals.

Step 21: A wild coyote drawing is over.
