How to Draw a Cruise Ship – Ocean Travel Drawing for Kids

This cruise ship drawing lesson turns a big, detailed ocean liner into a clear and beginner-friendly sketching experience. The tutorial guides kids step by step through building the massive structure starting with the hull, then adding stacked decks, windows, and the tall upper sections that give the ship its iconic look. Each stage is broken into simple visual steps so the drawing never feels overwhelming, even with all the details. The printable PDF worksheet adds extra space for practice, tracing, and relaxing creative time.

How to draw a cruise ship: step-by-step drawing instructions

Step 1: Draw an extended vertical line to represent the main body of the vessel. Then, draw a shorter curve on the left, and a slanting line to the right.

Step 2: Draw the top of the ship over the body with the front with a slanted, curving roof, as well as a shorter backside.

Step 3: Create a long, curving deck line to the top of the upper portion. Then draw another curving line over it.

Step 4: Create a second curve on the top layer to make the deck appear thicker.

Step 5: Include a side deck to the left side of the vessel with a curved top, and a support line that slants below it.

Step 6: Draw two tall smokestacks at the top of the ship.

Step 7: Include the radar mast on the right side of the ship and draw two poles of a smaller size on the back, one at the back and another near the front of the vessel.

Step 8: Draw a few horizontal window lines across the upper deck as well as the side deck.

Step 9: The upper window lines should be turned into tiny square windows on the left-hand side of the vessel.

Step 10: Draw the windows in a row on the lower left of the vessel.

Step 11: Create more windows with slanting in the upper right-hand side of the vessel.

Step 12: Make a long row of tiny windows along the bottom of the vessel.

Step 13: Create an array of wave-like shapes beneath the ship.

Step 14: Include a second and third row of waves just below the first one.

Step 15: You have completed drawing of your amazing cruise ship. Now let’s color it and make your drawing more beautiful.
