How to Draw a Hibiscus Flower – Flower Drawing for Kids Step by Step

This hibiscus flower drawing lesson brings a tropical bloom to life through calm, guided steps that feel easy to follow from the very first line. Learners build the flower petal by petal, gradually shaping its bold, flowing form while getting comfortable with curves, symmetry, and simple detailing. Each stage is shown visually, so the process feels more like assembling than guessing. With step-by-step images and a printable PDF worksheet included, it becomes a relaxing practice you can revisit anytime. A gentle, creative activity for anyone who enjoys drawing flowers with a bit of island-inspired charm.

Large petals and elegant curves make the hibiscus flower a beautiful drawing project for children who love nature.

Step 1: Draw an extended, slightly curved tube for the flower's center stalk. Then, add tiny round dots on the top of it.

Step 2: Make smaller circles on either side of the central stalk to form the tiny details of pollen.

Step 3: Draw a huge, waving petal along the middle stalk.

Step 4: Put another petal with a wavy pattern on the left-hand side.

Step 5: Draw another wavy petal at the high point of the flower.

Step 6: Place an enormous wavy petal to the right side, beginning at the center of the flower.

Step 7: Draw another petal along the lower right corner to complete the hibiscus flower design.

Step 8: Create two small curved lines beneath the flower to start the stem of the leaf.

Step 9: Draw a leaf on the left lower edge with a sharp edge as given in the image.

Step 10: Finish the lower portion of the leaf with additional tiny sharp edges.

Step 11: Draw curving lines that come between the stem and leaf to link them nicely.

Step 12: Make a second pointed leaf with spiky edges along the bottom left side of the bloom.

Step 13: Make a second pointed leaf with spiky edges along the bottom left side of the bloom.

Step 14: Make further long curved lines inside the petals' upper part to reveal the folds of the petals.

Step 15: Create more curved line details inside the petal to the right.

Step 16: Make the primary center vein of each leaf.

Step 17: Create smaller, curving veins on both leaves.

Step 18: Complete the hibiscus bloom by inspecting the petals, leaves, and stem, as well as inside the lines of detail. Now it's time to color your hibiscus with your favourite colors.
