How to Draw an Ice Cream Sundae – Easy Dessert Drawing for Kids

This ice cream sundae drawing lesson turns a delicious dessert into a playful, easy-to-follow sketching activity. The step-by-step visual guide helps learners build the glass, scoops, and toppings one layer at a time, making even the trickier details feel simple and manageable. Step 1: Draw a small round cherry with a tubular stem on the top.

Step 2: Use tiny U-shaped curves and wavy lines for the top layer of ice cream under the cherry.

Step 3: Complete the top layer of ice cream using the same pattern mentioned in step 2.

Step 4: Add swirls for the ice cream.

Step 5: Create the next layer of ice cream using a sequence of small ‘U’s.

Step 6: Include few more U’s to complete that layer of ice cream.

Step 7: Add one scoop of ice cream in the front, that look like a half-circle.

Step 8: With steep U’s, that scoop of ice cream is made.

Step 9: Adjacent to it, make another scoop of ice cream.

Step 10: That scoop of ice cream is created using steep ‘U’s.

Step 11: Draw curves vertically on both sides of each scoop.

Step 12: Draw wavy lines below to complete each scoop of ice cream.

Step 13: Make a bowl using a wide curve on the right side.

Step 14: For the left side of the bowl, draw another curve.

Step 15: Create the base of the bowl, which is rectangular in shape with sides curved.

Step 16: Draw an oval shape below it, that completes the base.

Step 17: Provide wavy lines that make the outer corners of the bowl.

Step 18: Draw a big, wide curve that indicates the capacity of the bowl.

Step 19: Within the rounded rectangle, draw a horizontal line and make the upper edges of oval with a slightly curved line.

Step 20: Add sprinkles that look like little rectangles with corners rounded above all the three scoops of ice cream.

Step 21: Design a waffle stick to be placed above an ice cream scoop.

Step 22: Draw lines diagonally throughout the waffle stick, and don’t forget to add an oval at the top of the stick which is a hollow opening.

Step 23: A delightful ice cream sundae is ready to eat.
