How to Draw a Kangaroo Step-by-step – Easy Australian Animal Drawing for Kids

This kangaroo drawing lesson turns a lively, iconic animal into a clear and enjoyable step-by-step sketching activity. Step 1: First, draw its ears, which are long and slender in shape placed on both sides of the head.

Step 2: Now, make its face outline on the right side by gently curved lines.

Step 3: Make another face outline on the left side as well.

Step 4: Make a heart-shaped nose and 'w'-shaped mouth as well.

Step 5: Make fluffy inner ears by small curved lines and spikes.

Step 6: Make its neck and shoulders by slightly curved lines which stand up vertically.

Step 7: Now, make one short front leg of the kangaroo.

Step 8: Now, make the other front leg of the kangaroo as well.

Step 9: Then, make its round body by drawing arcs.

Step 10: Now, make its belly area as well.

Step 11: Draw its lengthy rear limb with a narrow foot.

Step 12: Draw its other hind leg as well. Make the thigh bigger.

Step 13: Finish the hind leg.

Step 14: Add a long curly tail at the rear.

Step 15: The tail is finished.

Step 16: Add a head and ears of a baby joey.

Step 17: Add the inner ears, nose and mouth to the baby.

Step 18: Draw its neck and short front legs.

Step 19: Make a small pouch over the stomach region for the baby to sit inside.

Step 20: Define the toes on each foot using tiny lines. Don’t forget to add details on the chest area and on the feet.

Step 21: Provide eyes for the little animal.

Step 22: Now add eyebrows and eyes for the big creature.

Step 23: Shade the eyes inside.

Step 24: A friendly kangaroo is ready to color.
