How to Draw a Lighthouse – Simple Step-by-Step Coastal Drawing for Kids

Step 1: Draw a small upside-down U for the tiny cap at the top.

Step 2: Draw a slanted roof underneath it. Think of the shape as a big triangle without a bottom line.

Step 3: Make the base of the triangle and draw two short vertical lines down from the ceiling.

Step 4: Draw two curving lines, one under the other, to create the lantern room.

Step 5: Sketch a railing around the base of the lantern room.

Step 6: Make a half oval below the rails.

Step 7: Draw a curved band below the railing.

Step 8: Draw one long sloping line down from the band.

Step 9: Make the tall body of the lighthouse by drawing another slanting line on the other side.

Step 10: Draw a curved line over the tower horizontally.

Step 11: Draw two more curving lines beneath it to break up the lighthouse.

Step 12: Draw a curved baseline on the bottom.

Step 13: Draw a curved line for detail on the roof. Don't forget to add another curving band under the rails.

Step 14: Add vertical and horizontal window lines to the lantern room.

Step 15: Draw little rectangle marks on the body of the lighthouse.

Step 16: Convert these marks into arched windows.

Step 17: Draw the inside lines of the windows.

Step 18: At the bottom, draw a large arched entrance.

Step 19: Add features like the inner lines of the door and a small doorknob.

Step 20: Draw some irregular rocks at the base of the lighthouse.

Step 21: Add more lines of rock to make the ground look realistic.

Step 22: Draw some bushes on the rocks.

Step 23: Draw wavy sea lines in the front.

Step 24: You have built a towering lighthouse.
