Let's use Monkey Pen's detailed instructions to learn how to draw a meerkat. 

Step 1: Draw its rounded head first.

Step 2: Draw bumpy-curved ear outlines.

Step 3: Use spikes to create a little vertical line on the right and a tiny line on the left to create the neck.

Step 4: Create an oval-shaped inner ear for the right ear.

Step 5: Add a thin, curved line to the mouth and rounded nose.

Step 6: Provide the left eye a half-oval shape and the right an oval-shaped eye.

Step 7: Include the tiny, thin right front leg.

Step 8: Make a curve which will extend downwards and will serve as the body on the left side.

Step 9: The body on the right side can be made with a broad curve which extends under the right leg.

Step 10: Draw the left front leg, which is slightly thicker compared to the other leg. 

Step 11: Make a curve in C shape for the left hind leg, followed by L-shaped lines below.

Step 12: Show the right leg that is behind the body.

Step 13: Sketch a long tail that is thick at the beginning and narrower and sharp towards the end. 

Step 14: Behind the tail, add a V shape that is the rock, for the animal to sit on.

Step 15: Create rock on the right side too, with a curved line extending down. 

Step 16: Draw distorted lines to show the rocks are rough and with creases.

Step 17: Add tiny vertical and horizontal striped lines to show fingers and gently shade towards the tail end to show the texture. Also draw a tiny curve below the mouth.

Step 18: Give horizontal shaped patterns alongside the body in the form of scribbled lines.

Step 19: Include whiskers on either side of the mouth.

Step 20: Draw eyes in the form of small ovals. 

Step 21: Give tiny circles for the eyeballs inside.

Step 22: Shade the eyeballs.

Step 23: A curious meerkat drawing is just completed.
