This mushroom drawing lesson feels like a calm little nature walk on paper. Step by step, the cap and stem take shape through simple, friendly lines that are easy for beginners to follow. Each stage is shown visually, so learners can build confidence without overthinking proportions or details. It works beautifully for kids and anyone easing into drawing. With printable PDF worksheets included, you can trace, repeat, and enjoy the process at your own pace while watching a cute forest-inspired sketch come alive one step at a time.

Round caps and spotted tops make mushrooms a simple yet magical subject for young artists to sketch.

Step 1: Draw the mushroom stem's top portion, with two sides that are slightly curved and a rounded top.

Step 2: Create a wavy line at the stem's bottom to give the edge a frilly look.

Step 3: Draw an oval shape horizontally around the top of the stem to mark the bottom of the mushroom cap.

Step 4: Create a large oval shape vertically over the first oval to form the cap of the main mushroom.

Step 5: Draw the mushroom's lower stem longer and more rounded towards the bottom.

Step 6: Include small grass blades at the base of the stem of the mushroom.

Step 7: Add more grass on the opposite side of the stem to create the base of the grass.

Step 8: Draw a curving line of ground behind the grass to reveal that the mushroom is growing out of the ground.

Step 9: Draw curving lines on the left of the cap to mark the beginning of the gills.

Step 10: Incorporate more curved lines of gill beneath the cap. Spread them toward the stem.

Step 11: Draw curved lines of gills on the right side, under the mushroom cap.

Step 12: Small round spots should be added to the right-hand side of the cap.

Step 13: Create more circular spots on the mushroom cap, in different sizes.

Step 14: Draw short, curved lines along the stem to highlight the texture and details.

Step 15: Complete the mushroom by checking the outline, then adding any last-minute details. Now color your cute mushroom drawing with your favorite colors.
