How to Draw a Polar Bear Step-by-step – Simple Arctic Animal Drawing for Kids

This polar bear drawing lesson turns a big Arctic animal into something surprisingly simple and fun to sketch. Each stage is broken into clear visual steps, guiding learners through soft curves, rounded shapes, and gentle facial details without any confusion. It’s especially welcoming for kids and beginners who enjoy learning through seeing rather than guessing. The included step-by-step images and printable PDF worksheet make it easy to practice, pause, and redraw until it clicks. A quiet, wintry drawing activity that feels both relaxing and rewarding as the bear slowly takes shape on the page.

Snowy adventures begin as kids draw a mighty polar bear using simple lines and friendly animal shapes.

Step 1: Draw a thin curve at the top middle part of the page to start the furry head of a polar bear.

Step 2: Attach two rounded ears on both sides of the head.

Step 3: Draw the right side of the face with soft furry cheeks.

Step 4: Make sure to draw the left side of the bear’s face to finish the head-shaped round form.

Step 5: Create smaller curved lines within each ear.

Step 6: Draw an oval-shaped muzzle at the center of the face. Add the mouth and nose inside that oval shape.

Step 7: Draw a curved, slanting line that runs down to the right side of the head. This will begin the body.

Step 8: Create an oval shape in the lower part on the line you have just drawn to create the left foot.

Step 9: Draw a slanted, curved line on the left side also. This line will be drawn to begin on the opposite side of the body.

Step 10: Draw an oval at the bottom of the line you have just drawn to create the left foot.

Step 11: Create a front leg towards the middle of the body using a long curving line.

Step 12: Place the opposite front leg next to it and make the front and back paws close to each other.

Step 13: Put the paw pad as well as tiny toe circles on the left foot.

Step 14: Place the pad on your paw and the small toe circles on the right foot.

Step 15: Draw tiny toe lines across both front paws.

Step 16: Draw an irregularly shaped frozen ground under the polar bear.

Step 17: Spread the icy ground form to the left.

Step 18: Make a wrinkled line within the ice to highlight the edges and thickness.

Step 19: Draw further sharp edges of ice on the right side and the bottom of the ice.

Step 20: Draw small vertical lines across the ice blocks to make the floating ice appear more solid.

Step 21: Draw two eyes on the face of the polar bear.

Step 22: Make small curves at the eyebrows, color the eyes, and then add highlights to the eyes.

Step 23: Complete the polar bear's drawing verifying the final shape and make the outlines neat.
