How to Draw a Rainy Day Scenery – Easy Weather Scene Drawing for Kids

This rainy day scenery lesson turns a moody, weather-filled scene into something calm and easy to build step by step. You start with simple outlines and gradually add elements like clouds, falling rain, puddles, and little landscape details that bring the atmosphere to life. Each stage is shown visually so beginners can follow along without feeling lost, even when the scene looks detailed at first glance. It also comes with downloadable PDF worksheets you can print and practice anytime, making it easy to revisit the drawing and improve at your own pace.

Do you know how to draw rainy scenery? Come on, let’s explore the steps.

Step 1: First let’s draw a boy standing holding an umbrella. Create his head with uneven spikes for the hair.

Step 2: Draw the face below that looks rounded. Also add the left ear with a 'C' facing right.

Step 3: Complete his head above, which is wide and flat.

Step 4: Include an umbrella above the head using a wavy design.

Step 5: Complete the umbrella using a wide half-circle.

Step 6: Add another layer of wavy design just before the previous one to show the umbrella is open.

Step 7: Draw eyebrows to the boy using tiny dash-like lines and add a nose and mouth with a tiny comma and a half-circle with a wide C inside, on the bottom, facing down.

Step 8: Provide a comfy raincoat for the boy who has a thick neck pattern.

Step 9: Add long sleeves for the right arm along with the cuff.

Step 10: Create the left arm too, using a J-shaped outline with an upside-down T above.

Step 11: Indicate that the boy has cuffs on the left sleeves as well by using a rectangle. Besides, also add left fingers.

Step 12: Give the J-shaped handle for the umbrella with vertical lines running parallel to each other below the face.

Step 13: Draw the raincoat on the left side using a half-square.

Step 14: Complete the right side, too, using another half-square.

Step 15: Draw a vertical line centrally inside the raincoat that separates the right and left side.

Step 16: Add right and left legs that look like squares.

Step 17: Provide boots to the right leg using parallel lines followed by a flat oval-shaped design.

Step 18: Include boots for the left leg too.

Step 19: Draw curves inside to differentiate each segment.

Step 20: Add details for the raincoat at the neck using a thin line. Then give pockets and buttons using half-circles and tiny circles

Step 21: Illustrate raindrops falling from the umbrella using a dew shape and depict rainwater on the ground with a wavy design.

Step 22: Draw the pathway or the road using a long-curved line and a rounded V-shaped line.

Step 23: Add plants and grass on the sides of the pathway using cloud shapes and tiny spikes.

Step 24: Create a house on the right side that looks like an inverted V with another V below. Also add a small straight line followed by the outer 'V' beside it.

Step 25: Create squares for the windows on the sides and a rounded rectangle for the door in the centre.

Step 26: Include inner lines for the door and windows.

Step 27: Provide eyes for the boy using tiny circles.

Step 28: Darken the eyes inside.

Step 29: A quiet rainy-day scenery drawing is over.
