Discover how simple lines can create depth as Monkey Pen shows you how to draw a staircase step by step.

Step 1: Create a small circle shape for the upper part of your stair post.

Step 2: Draw a tiny curved design below the circle as shown in the image.

Step 3: Draw a square-shaped block underneath the cap.

Step 4: Draw three long vertical lines as in the image to create the post.

Step 5: Add one small cube to the lower part of your post.

Step 6: Draw a long horizontal slanting line, starting from the post for the handrail, with a small curve at its end.

Step 7: Add another slanting line parallel to the one you have just drawn at the angle so that the handrail looks thick.

Step 8: Draw a straight line inside the handrail.

Step 9: Draw a small cap on the end point of the handrail.

Step 10: Draw the stair post beneath the handrail at its top end.

Step 11: Create the base of the stair post.

Step 12: Draw the tops of the balusters that remain.

Step 13: Finish the upper portions of the balusters by adding small lines inside.

Step 14: Draw the rolled middle portion of the balusters.

Step 15: Attach the square bases of each baluster.

Step 16: Draw the tops of the steps starting from each baluster.

Step 17: Add the front edges on the step using straight lines as shown in the image.

Step 18: Finish the outline of the entire stairs as given in the image.

Step 19: Start drawing the side faces of the stairs.

Step 20: Draw the side support that slopes down beneath the steps.

Step 21: Draw the floor and wall lines around the staircase just as in the image.

Step 22: Draw a hanged photo frame on the wall.

Step 23: Check the outline of the staircase design. Now give your drawing your favourite shades!
