How to Draw the Statue of Liberty Step-by-step – Easy Landmark Drawing for Kids

This Statue of Liberty drawing lesson turns one of the world’s most iconic landmarks into a clear and approachable step-by-step sketching activity. The visual guide helps learners begin with simple facial and head shapes, then gradually build the crown, raised arm with torch, flowing robe, and pedestal using structured stages that feel easy to follow. Printable PDF worksheets are included, allowing space to repeat each step, refine the folds and shapes, and slowly bring the full monument to life from a basic outline into a complete landmark illustration.

The famous torch and crown come together as kids recreate one of the world's most recognisable landmarks.

Step 1: Draw a tiny curved line that marks the beginning of the face of the statue.

Step 2: Complete the outline of the face and begin the neck portion and also add the ear.

Step 3: Add hair on the head.

Step 4: Include the hairband, facial features.

Step 5: Add the pointed beams of the crown in front of the head.

Step 6: Add the hair with two short lines just below the head.

Step 7: Draw a long straight line from the shoulder to start the robe.

Step 8: Include the left shoulder as well as the small curving line at the neck.

Step 9: Draw the sleeve with a raised design besides the top of the head.

Step 10: Connect the lower end of the sleeve, and then connect it to the body.

Step 11: Make the shoulder on the left as well as the long side of the robe.

Step 12: Draw the raised arm upwards from the sleeve.

Step 13: Include the hand at the highest point of the raised arm.

Step 14: The torch and flame should be placed over the hand.

Step 15: Draw the book to the left side.

Step 16: Include the hand holding the book to complete the lower half of the hand.

Step 17: Draw a straight line that runs down from the shoulder until it forms the sides of the robe.

Step 18: Make a big curving fold on one side of the dress.

Step 19: Spread the lower right edge of the robe downwards by wavy lines.

Step 20: Draw the left edges of the robe towards the lower part of it.

Step 21: The base form should be added below the statue.

Step 22: Create a long curving line on the left side as shown in the image.

Step 23: Add inner folds that curve on the front of the robe.

Step 24: Draw more straight and curving robe lines that run along the central line.

Step 25: Create wavy folds towards the bottom of the robe.

Step 26: Make small curled folds on the lower right edge of the robe.

Step 27: Include details on the torch, sleeves, booklet hand, and lower robe.

Step 28: Make small circles in the crown, then add lines of writing onto the booklet, and then complete the pedestal line.

Step 29: Include the eyes.

Step 30: Check the crown torch, robe tablet and pedestal details to complete your Statue of Liberty design. Now color your drawing to make it more beautiful.
