Discover how to draw a tornado with Monkey Pen’s step-by-step drawing guide that makes this powerful weather phenomenon easy and fun to sketch.

Step 1: Draw a long curve to create the top of the swirl.

Step 2: You can add another line of curved lines around it to make it appear to be spinning.

Step 3: Draw curved lines further beneath the top line to form the swirling design.

Step 4: Create a small curly section beneath that swirl to the right side.

Step 5: Continue to follow the curving lines along the left so that the twister becomes larger.

Step 6: Draw smaller lines curved downwards to create the narrow tail.

Step 7: You can add another line of curved lines towards the bottom to maintain the twisted shape.

Step 8: Make tiny curves near the top to make the twister thinner.

Step 9: Complete the pointed lower section by creating tiny curly curves.

Step 10: Create a dust cloud beneath the tornado.

Step 11: Begin drawing a huge cloud over the top of the storm.

Step 12: Continue the cloud over the top, using soft curves that are smooth.

Step 13: Finalize the cloud to the right.

Step 14: Include curving lines in the swirls and clouds on top to highlight motion.

Step 15: Draw the line of the ground and add dust clouds at the bottom.

Step 16: Make curved lines on the ground to illustrate the path of the tornado.

Step 17: Draw small pieces of debris that fly and motion lines around the tornado.

Step 18: Finalize the sketch by making the outer lines neat. Now try to give your drawing some colors!
