Mia looks out the window.
The sky is grey.
Plip… plip… plip…
Rain begins to fall.
Mia presses her little hands on the glass.
She watches the drops.
Some drops move slowly.
Some run fast.
“Rain,” Mia whispers.
Mummy brings a raincoat.
It is bright yellow.
“Let’s go outside,” Mummy says.
Mia puts on her coat.
She puts on her boots.
Stomp… stomp…
Mia is ready.
Outside, the rain is soft.
Tiny drops fall on Mia’s face.
Cool drops.
Gentle drops.
Mia smiles.
She sees a puddle.
She steps in.
SPLASH!
Water jumps up.
Mia laughs.
She finds another puddle.

Mia hops and plays.
Mummy smiles and watches.
Rain taps the leaves.

Rain taps the roof.

Slowly, the rain stops.
The clouds move away.

A rainbow appears.

“Pretty,” Mia says softly.
“Time to go home,” says Mummy.
Boots off.
Coat off.
A warm towel wraps Mia.
Mia feels cosy.
Mia sits by the window again.
The garden shines with tiny drops.
Mia smiles.
She feels happy and safe.
