One sunny day, a baby elephant stood near a tree.
Step… step… step…
He looked up.
A little monkey was swinging from branch to branch.
Swing! Swing!
Jump! Jump!
“Wheee!” the monkey laughed.
The baby elephant watched.
“Oh…” he said softly.
“I wish I could climb like you.”
The monkey stopped and looked down.
He smiled.
“I can climb,” he said,
“But I can’t splash water like you!”
The baby elephant blinked.
“Really?” he asked.
“Yes!” said the monkey.
“Show me!”
The baby elephant lifted his trunk.
Up… up…
Then—
Splash! Splash!
Water sprayed everywhere!
The monkey got wet.
“Ahhh!” he laughed.
“That’s so fun!”
“Again! Again!”
The baby elephant giggled.
Splash! Splash!
They both laughed.
The monkey jumped down.
“Let’s play!” he said.
They played together happily.
The baby elephant smiled wide.
“I like being me,” he said.
The monkey nodded.
“And I like being me too!”
Soon, the sun began to set.
The sky turned soft and orange.
“Time to go home,” said the monkey.
“See you tomorrow!” said the elephant.
They waved goodbye.
Happy… proud… and smiling.
