Every year, the little town of Willow Creek waited for one exciting day.
The Travelling Science Show came to town.
The scientists brought amazing experiments, fun machines and colourful surprises.
Children talked about it for weeks.
This year, five best friends could not wait to go.
There was Luca, who loved building things.
Mia, who asked lots of questions.
Ben, who enjoyed solving puzzles.
Sofia, who loved drawing new inventions.
And Noah, who dreamed of becoming an inventor.
On Saturday morning, the friends hurried to the ticket booth together.
A long line of people was already waiting.
The friends smiled and chatted while the line moved forward.
Finally, they reached the front.
The ticket seller looked inside the ticket box.
She smiled kindly.
"Oh dear," she said.
"There's only one ticket left."
The five friends looked at one another.
Nobody wanted to argue.
Luca smiled.
"You should take it," he said to Mia.
"You love science."
Mia shook her head.
"No. Ben should go."
Ben smiled.
"I think Sofia should have it."
Sofia laughed.
"Noah wants to be an inventor. He should go."
Noah looked at his friends.
Then he gently closed the ticket box.
"I have another idea," he said.
The others looked at him.
Noah pointed across the road.
The town library stood in the warm sunshine.
"What if we ask the scientists to do one show in the library garden?"
"Then everyone could watch."
The friends loved the idea.
Together, they walked to the Science Show organisers.
They explained their plan.
The organisers listened carefully.
Then they smiled.
"No child has ever asked us to share the show with everyone," one scientist said.
"We love your idea."
That afternoon, the library garden became full of excitement.
Children arrived with their families.
Grandparents found seats under the trees.
Soon the science show began.
There were giant bubbles.
Paper rockets flew into the sky.
Bright colours danced inside glass jars.
Tiny robots moved across the tables.
Everyone laughed.
Everyone clapped.
Everyone learned something new.
When the show ended, the organiser walked over to the five friends.
He held up the last ticket.
"This belongs to all of you," he said.
"You showed us that the best ideas are the ones we share."
The friends smiled proudly.
They had not kept the last ticket for themselves.
Instead, they had shared something wonderful with the whole town.
From that year on, whenever the Travelling Science Show visited Willow Creek, it always held a free show in the library garden.
And every time the friends saw the happy crowd, they remembered the day when one last ticket made everyone a winner.
