One morning, a little bear walked in the forest.

Step… step… step…

He sniffed the air.

“Sniff… sniff… what is that?”

A sweet smell!

The little bear followed it.

Step… step… step…

“Oh!” he said.

Near a tree sat a small honey pot.

Golden honey shone inside.

“Yum!” said the bear.

He dipped his paw.

Drip… drip…

He tasted it.

“Mmm… so sweet!”

He licked his paw.

Lick… lick…

He wanted more!

Another dip—

drip… drip…

Another lick—

“Yummy!”

Sticky honey got on his nose.

“Oops!” he giggled.

He tried to wipe it—

smear… smear…

Now his paws were sticky too!

“Hee hee!” he laughed.

The little bear smiled wide.

Then he stopped.

He looked at the pot.

“So much honey,” he said softly.

He sat down and thought.

“If I eat it all now… there will be none later.”

The little bear nodded.

“I will save some.”

He took a small bite… just a little.

Then he covered the pot.

“Safe for later,” he said.

He patted it gently.

Pat… pat…

The little bear walked home.

Step… step… step…

The next day, he came back.

Step… step… step…

The honey pot was still there!

“Oh!” he smiled.

“My honey!”

He opened it.

Drip… drip…

“Still sweet!” he laughed.

This time, he ate slowly.

Lick… lick…

Not too much.

The little bear felt happy.

“I’m glad I saved it,” he said.
