One happy morning, a little puppy was running around the house.
Tap-tap!
Zoom-zoom!
He chased his tail…
he bounced on the mat…
he sniffed everything!
“Sniff… sniff… what’s this?” he wondered.
There, near the door, was a soft shoe.
“Ooooh! A new toy!” the puppy barked.
He grabbed it— tug! tug!
He shook it— flap! flap!
He ran around with it—
zoom! zoom!
Then he plopped down and chewed it.
Chomp… chomp… chomp…
“Yummy… fun!” he wagged his tail.
Just then, his owner came in.
“Oh no…” the owner said softly.
“My shoe…”
The puppy stopped.
He looked at the shoe… then at his owner.
The owner looked sad.
The puppy’s tail slowed down.
“Oh…” he thought.
“This is not my toy…”
He gently picked up the shoe.
Step… step…
He walked slowly to his owner.
And placed it down.
“I’m sorry,” his little eyes seemed to say.
The owner smiled.
“That’s okay,” he said kindly.
He gave the puppy a soft pat.
“Good boy.”
The puppy wagged his tail again— wag! wag!
Then the owner brought a ball.
“Here’s your toy!”
The puppy jumped up happily.
Bounce! Bounce!
Playtime again!
Moral: Being careful with others’ things makes everyone happy.
