Every evening after school, ten-year-old Lumi explored the forest behind Grandma’s cottage.

She carried a notebook to draw unusual flowers, colourful insects and other woodland discoveries.

“The forest reveals its secrets to those who slow down and notice,” Grandma often said.

Lumi believed her.

One cool autumn evening, Lumi spotted a tiny golden door beneath a giant red mushroom.

It was no taller than her hand, with a brass handle shining in the fading light.

“Who could live behind such a little door?” she wondered.

As she touched the handle, golden light appeared.

Slowly, the door opened by itself.

Inside stood a tiny family in sparkling clothes, no bigger than raindrops.

An elderly lady smiled. “Welcome, Lumi. We are the Raindrop People.”

“You know my name?” Lumi asked in amazement.

“We know every child who truly loves the forest,” she replied.

The elderly lady invited Lumi inside.

Beyond the tiny door lay a hidden village with crystal houses beneath giant ferns, silver streams and flowers glowing in the moonlight.

It was the most magical place Lumi had ever seen.

But something was wrong.

The streams were dry, the flowers drooped and only a few drops remained in the crystal ponds.

“Our village is drying up,” explained the elder. “Without morning dew, our flowers cannot bloom, our streams cannot flow and our home will slowly fade.”

“Can I help?” Lumi asked.

“There is one way,” said the elder. “Before sunrise, follow the Trail of Dew to the Heart Spring, where all morning dew begins. But hurry—the trail disappears when sunlight touches it.”

Lumi nodded. “I’ll return before dawn.”

Before sunrise, Lumi slipped into the quiet forest and found the sparkling Trail of Dew.

She followed it over mossy stones, beneath ancient trees and across fallen logs.

As sunlight appeared, the trail began to fade.

“Hurry!” whispered the breeze.

Lumi ran as fast as she could.

At last, Lumi reached a small clearing where a magical spring bubbled.

Each drop became sparkling morning dew and floated across the forest.

But thick vines and pieces of plastic blocked the spring, slowing its flow.

Lumi quickly cleared away the vines, fallen branches, plastic waste and heavy stones.

Suddenly, the spring bubbled freely.

Thousands of sparkling dewdrops rose into the breeze and spread across the forest’s flowers, leaves and grass.

By the time Lumi hurried back to the little golden door, wonderful things were already happening.

Tiny streams danced once again.

Crystal ponds shimmered.

Flowers opened wide with bright smiling faces.

The Raindrop People laughed with joy.

"Our village is alive again!" they cheered.

The elder gently handed Lumi a tiny crystal dew drop hanging from a silver thread.

"Keep this," he said.

"As long as you care for the nature, you'll always remember that even the smallest living things depend on nature."

As Lumi stepped outside, morning sunlight filled the forest, and the golden door disappeared beneath the mushroom.

From then on, Lumi cared for the forest by watering young plants and avoiding tiny flowers and soft moss.

Lumi picked up litter and cleared fallen branches from little streams.

Sometimes after sunset, she saw a golden glow beneath the mushroom and wondered if the Raindrop People were waving.

Lumi had learned that even the smallest parts of nature were full of life—and every caring act helped protect them.

Moral: Caring for nature means caring for every living thing, no matter how small.
