How to Draw a Cat – Simple Drawing Tutorial for Kids

Step 1: Let's start with the cat’s face. Draw the outline as shown.

Step 2: Draw a ‘3’ facing upwards for the body part and leg.

Step 3: Then draw a flat ‘U’ to complete its body.

Step 4: On the head portion, draw a slanting half-moon for the ear.

Step 5: Inside the curved ear, create an upward D for its ear lobes.

Step 6: Draw a downward ‘6’ for another ear, touching the face outline.

Step 7: In the body portion, create a slanting half-moon for the patch.

Step 8: On the left side of the body, draw a curved line partitioning the legs.

Step 9: Draw a small deep ‘U’ for the hind leg facing the right side.

Step 10: Create an additional large, deep ‘U’ oriented to the right for the front leg, positioned along the lower face.

Step 11: On the top of its body, draw a big, inverted ‘U’ to create the cat’s tail.

Step 12: Place two straight dots and one round dot for the eyes and nose.

Step 13: Draw two curved lines on both sides of the nose for whiskers. Then a tiny inverted ‘u’ to add nose details.

Step 14: Add 2 tiny circles on each side of the face for fluffy cheeks.

Step 15: Outside the cat drawing, simply draw a circle for the ball.

Step 16: Below the eyebrows, i.e. tiny dot-like lines, draw two oval shapes for the eyes.

Step 17: Darken the eyes inside to create their pupils.

Step 18: The cat drawing is finally over.
