How to draw a grasshopper using simple tricks? With Monkey Pen’s step-by-step guide, you can easily and effectively make grasshopper art.
Step 1: First draw a pair of antennae for the grasshopper. Draw two long, narrow strips with horizontal lines crossing in between. Join the antennae with a small curve in the horizontal direction.

Step 2: Draw a small round that surrounds the antennae. On the left side of the round, create a small bend inside. This section is the head part.

Step 3: Make a small cylindrical design with just the beginning on the right side of the round in a slanting position. This is called the thorax.

Step 4: Beside the cylindrical design, draw a small curve horizontally on the upper side to create its wing.

Step 5: Draw a bottle design for its leg that looks round at the head, narrower at the neck and slightly broader towards the body and almost until the end.

Step 6: Starting from the bottle, draw two vertical lines that lie parallel to each other and in a slanting position. One line has tiny spines distributed all over it, and the other line looks plain. Connect the ends of both lines with a narrow rectangle-like design that is slightly angled below the right angle. On the lower side of the rectangle, add gentle curves up and down that look uneven. The whole portion are grasshopper’s one leg.

Step 7: Continue the wing with a slanting line from its leg and slightly bend it, facing left. This looks like a small V behind it.

Step 8: Complete the wing with small horizontal curves from V.

Step 9: Draw one of its small legs in front of a small curve that starts the abdomen. The front leg is created by a long, narrow, teeth-like design featuring vertical lines that are parallel to each other, positioned below a slightly broader rectangle that stands vertically; one side of this rectangle is plain while the other side has sharp curves.

Step 10: On the right side of the front leg, draw another leg with a tiny rectangle with one side narrow and all corners rounded. Below it, draw small lines that lie parallel to each other, followed by a tiny, rounded rectangle with one side having sharp spines.

Step 11: Complete the body with a big, curved line taking a U-turn below the wings.

Step 12: Draw another front leg with parallel lines lying horizontally, then vertically, followed by a rectangular design in a horizontal position that looks a little bit slanting with gentle spikes on the lower part.

Step 13: Draw vertical lines crossing the body in a slanting position on the front side.

Step 14: Add vertical lines at the backside too.

Step 15: Provide horizontal lines in a slanting position on the wings too.

Step 16: Draw a small half-moon shape inside the thorax.

Step 17: Add a mouth with a small, deep curve, with a wide ‘U’ below. At both ends of the mouth, give tiny dashes.

Step 18: Draw its eyes with small circles and curved lines beneath.

Step 19: Leaving the bottom corner of the eyes and a tiny dot-like circle inside, darken the white part to show the eyeball.

Step 20: A cheerful grasshopper drawing is done.
