Sophie is a little girl. Josh is a little boy, and Tom is a little boy too. They are all good friends. Why are they good friends?  Because they all live on the same street in the same little town.

Sophie, Josh, and Tom walk to school together every morning.  After school, they walk home together.  But before they leave their houses, they must get ready for school.

Let’s see what Sophie is doing. She eats her breakfast and then brushes her teeth. She puts on her clothes. But where is her book bag? There it is! It is hiding in her closet.

And what is Josh doing? He is ready for school, but where is he? “Josh,” says his mother. “It’s time to go to school.” There he is: he is playing with his toy dinosaurs under his bed!

Where is Tom?  “Tom,” says his father.  “Where are you?”  Tom is outside in the garden, playing with his football. He runs inside and grabs his book bag and lunch.

Now the three friends are ready to walk to school.  Josh and Tom meet first.  They walk down the street and see Sophie.  She is waiting for them. “Hi, Sophie,” they say to her.

Sophie, Josh, and Tom all like to go to school. They learn lots of new things every day, and they like their teacher. After school, they meet and start to walk home.

They walk past a park on their way home. There are trees, grass, and even a little pond in the middle of the park. Today they heard something. “Help! Help!” cries a little voice.

“Did you hear that?” asked Sophie. “Yes,” answers Josh. “I think it is coming from the pond,” says Tom. They walk to the pond. They see lily pads and a lazy frog sitting on a pad.

“I don’t hear the little voice,” says Tom.  Just then, a little head pops up out of the water.  “Help! Help!” says the little voice. And then the little head goes under the water again.

“It’s a little bunny rabbit!” says Sophie. “I think the little bunny rabbit needs our help!” says Josh. “What can we do?” asks Tom. “I have an idea,” says Sophie.

“Help! Help!” cries the little bunny rabbit. Sophie, Josh, and Tom put down their book bags. Sophie finds a long stick. It is a limb from one of the trees in the park.

Sophie waits for the little bunny rabbit to pop its head up out of the water. “Help! Help!” cries the little bunny rabbit. Sophie holds one end of the stick. She points the other end towards the rabbit.

The little bunny rabbit looks up and sees the stick. Sophie, Josh, and Tom all shout: “Grab the stick! Grab it quick!” The little bunny rabbit blinks and then grabs the stick and grabs it quick!

Now Josh and Tom help Sophie pull the little bunny rabbit out of the pond. It’s a little girl bunny. It’s a very wet little girl, bunny rabbit!

“Are you okay?” asked Sophie. “I think so,” answers the rabbit. “What’s your name?” asks Josh. “I’m Ashley,” she answers. “It’s nice to meet you, Ashley,” says Tom.

He says, “I’m Tom, and this is Josh, and this is Sophie.” “Thank you for saving me!” says Ashley. She is wet and a little cold, so she is shaking.

“Let’s take her home and help her dry off,” says Sophie. “And she can get warm,” says Josh. “And maybe we can give her something to eat,” says Tom.

So Sophie, Josh, and Tom take Ashley to Sophie’s house. They dry her off, and soon she is warm again. Then they all have a snack. Sophie, Josh, and Tom have a new friend!
