One day, there were 3 children called Peter, Lily, and Suki who received a stroke of luck.
Each of them was given a big wallet full of money. They were all told to spend it very wisely.

All of Peter, Lily, and Suki’s friends were very keen to find out how they would spend their big wallets of cash.
They kept giving suggestions and asking if they had made any decisions yet.

A few days passed before the first child made a decision on how to spend his money.
Peter took his big wallet filled with cash and went to the shopping mall, splurging on his chosen items.

After Peter finished his spending spree, he eagerly showed his friends all the new items he had acquired.
He had lots of bags, each with a different gadget or item of clothing inside.
He proudly displayed his new phone, watch, and a new pair of shoes, as all of his friends ‘ooh’-ed and ‘aah’-ed in amazement.

Peter's friends were quite impressed with his array of new clothes and gadgets, finding him exceptionally cool.
They all followed him around as he would talk about his new things and show them how the fancy technology worked.
A few days after that, the second child, Lily, made a decision about what to do with her money.
Lily asked her mother for assistance, and together, they went to the nearest bank. Lily deposited all of her money into an account.
Once Lily had finished at the bank, she explained to her friends that her money would be kept in a safe place.
Lily wanted to save her money until she was old enough to buy and drive a car.

All of Lily’s friends thought she was very sensible about saving her money.
Everyone knew she would be able to spend it on something cool in the future.
They all spoke and wondered about the kind of car she might buy.

The next child, Suki, put a lot of thought into how to use her money.
A few weeks had passed before she took her big wallet of cash to a shop to spend it. But this wasn’t an ordinary shop.
Suki chose to spend her money at a charity shop.
Once Suki had finished purchasing items, along with some paint and tools, she carried all her new things to a garage.
Here, she delved into drilling, hammering, and painting. Upon completion, she unveiled the finished product to her friends.
It was a vending machine. It was an old, rusty vending machine that Suki had fixed.

All of Suki’s friends, including Peter and Lily, began to laugh.
“What is she going to do with that pile of junk?” Suki heard being whispered.
“What a silly purchase,” she heard others giggle.

This upset Suki. She had given so much thought and effort to this idea. She even had some spare money left over.
Suki really hoped it was going to be the wisest idea of all. But everyone else thought otherwise.
But as the years went on, the children and their friends slowly started to see whose purchases were the coolest, most sensible, and wisest of all.

Peter’s gadgets stopped working, his watch broke, his clothes fell out of style, and he outgrew his shoes.
He couldn’t generate additional income and was not able to keep up with his reputation.
Consequently, his friends no longer found him as impressive.

Lily eventually decided to spend all her savings on a brand new car.
She drove it everywhere, picking up her friends for rides- until one unfortunate day, it broke down.
With all of her cash gone, she could not afford to fix it.
Now the car stays parked in the same spot, and Lily and her friends have to walk everywhere. So Lily’s friends don’t consider her as sensible as they once thought.
Suki placed her vending machine in a shopping mall.
Every time someone felt hungry or thirsty, they inserted money into Suki’s machine, choosing a drink or a snack.
The vending machine never broke or went out of fashion. In fact, it earned double, then triple, and eventually ten times the amount Suki had originally paid for it.
Now, with multiple big wallets of cash. With them, Suki purchased more vending machines.
She placed them in waiting rooms, hotels, train stations, and offices.
Suki’s vending machines were all over town, ensuring she was never out of pocket as long as her vending machines continued to make a profit.
Now, Suki was able to buy cool gadgets and the latest clothes.
She bought a brand new car and could even save some money too.
If she grew out of her shoes or her car had a flat tyre, she always had enough cash to fix it or buy something new.
When all of Suki’s friends, including Peter and Lily, saw this, they realised she had not been that silly.
Everyone apologised to Suki for making fun of her purchase.
As she explained how her one-time payment now produces more and more money, they soon came to understand that Suki was the coolest, most sensible, and wisest of them all.
