How to make a paper grasshopper: step-by-step description
Step 1: Grab the paper in squares.

Step 2: Fold your square diagonally to create the shape of a triangle

Step 3: Fold the paper back to create the square.

Step 4: Fold the square diagonally and fold it the other way.

Step 5: Open it up again. There should be two diagonal lines of creases.

Step 6: Fold the paper and then fold it horizontally to form an oval.

Step 7: Open it up and try it again.

Step 8: Fold the paper in half horizontally to create a smaller rectangle.

Step 9: Bring the sides toward you and begin to collapse the paper with the help of the folds.

Step 10: Press the folds together to form a triangle.

Step 11: Flatten it cleanly.

Step 12: Finish collapsing the paper into a tiny square base.

Step 13: Hold the square, keeping the corners that are open facing downwards

Step 14: Fold one flap diagonally towards the middle.

Step 18: Fold it inwards to create a pointed kite shape.

Step 19: Fold the form in half, lengthwise.

Step 20: Open and then shape the flap slightly to create the grasshopper's body and wings.

Step 21: Fold the top flap downwards a little.

Step 22: Gently fold the flap towards the centre.

Step 23: Open the side layers slightly.

Step 24: Fold the pointed bottom part upwards.

Step 25: Bring the flap across and smooth it out.

Step 26: Turn the form flat so that it appears even.

Step 27: Fold the entire shape in half lengthwise.

Step 28: Press the narrow bottom section firmly, creating an angular fold.

Step 29: Carefully cut an upward slit from the bottom of the slit to create legs.

Step 30: Fold the cut portion outward.

Step 31: Fold the cut section inwards too.

Step 32: Spread and open the sides of the body to create the legs of the grasshopper.

Step 33: Adjust the tiny centre flap and fold it neatly in front.

Step 34: Pull the points evenly across both sides to ensure that both sides are equal.

Step 35: Make a second small cut on the lower part of the pointed end to make a cut in the upper pointed part.

Step 36: Lift the flap a bit and then form the body.

Step 37: Fold the thin tips of the front upwards to create the feelers.

Step 38: Press the fold in the middle to secure the body position.

Step 39: Open the legs and body slowly to make the grasshopper appear more rounded.

Step 40: Bend and adjust the legs and front until your grasshopper is complete.

Step 41: Gently bend its front legs to shape them.

Step 42: Press the body fold carefully to secure the shape.

Step 43: Adjust the body and wings to ensure that the grasshopper appears at ease.

Step 44: Draw or stick on one small eye close to the head.

Step 45: Your grasshopper is completed and ready to hop.
