Swim into an exciting ocean adventure with Monkey Pen and learn how to draw a marlin step by step using simple shapes and flowing lines.
Step 1: Draw two long, slightly curved lines that meet at a point, creating a narrow edge, for the marlin’s bill.

Step 2: Extend a large, curved line from the upper bill to begin the marlin’s back and body.

Step 3: Add a short-angled line starting from inside the bill to form the mouth.

Step 4: Draw a long-curved line from the lower bill to form the underside of the body.

Step 5: Add curved lines at the back of the body to begin the narrow tail section as shown in the image.

Step 6: Draw a large curved line that connects the two sides of the tail to form the lower edge of the tail fin.

Step 7: Begin the tall dorsal fin with a pointed curve and a few scalloped edges.

Step 8: Continue the scalloped dorsal fin down along the marlin’s back.

Step 9: Add two small pointed fins near the back of the body.

Step 10: Draw a curved line behind the mouth to form the gill cover.

Step 11 : Add a long, pointed pectoral fin behind the gill cover.

Step 12: Draw two small pointed fins along the lower side of the body.

Step 13: Draw two small pointed fins along the lower side of the body.

Step 14: Draw several curved lines inside the dorsal fin.

Step 15: Add fine curved lines inside the pectoral and lower front fins.

Step 16: Draw inner lines on the tail fin and the smaller rear fins.

Step 17: Add several curved stripes across the upper part of the body as in the image.

Step 18: Draw another curved line just behind the mouth and complete the gill detail.

Step 19: Draw a small circle for the marlin’s eye.

Step 20: Add a dark pupil and a tiny highlight inside the eye.

Step 21: Draw two rows of wavy lines beneath the marlin for the water.

Step 22: Add large splashes of water around the tail.

Step 23: Draw several small water droplets around the splashes.

Step 24: Check the outlines and erase any unnecessary lines to complete the marlin drawing. Now try coloring it!
