How to Draw a Shark – Easy Ocean Predator Drawing for Kids

This shark drawing lesson makes a powerful ocean predator feel surprisingly simple to sketch, even for beginners. You’re guided step by step through building the shark’s streamlined body, starting with the dorsal fin and head shape, then gradually adding fins, tail, gills, and those signature sharp teeth. Each stage is broken into clear visual steps so the drawing stays easy to follow without feeling overwhelming. The printable PDF worksheet gives extra space to practice, trace, and refine at your own pace.

How to draw an easy shark? It’s very simple with Monkey Pen’s step-by-step guide.

Step 1: First draw the dorsal fin that looks like a triangle.

Step 2: Then draw the head part along with a sharp snout.

Step 3: Behind the dorsal fin, draw the body that extends back, forming the tail portion.

Step 4: Below the snout, create a wide, curved mouth that takes a left turn and travels alongside a medium curved line to create the lower part of the head.

Step 5: Add pectoral fin that lie on the side of the mid portion of the body, resembling a narrow V in a slanting position.

Step 6: Now extend a line from the pectoral fin to draw the body at the back.

Step 7: Create the tail part, known as the caudal fin, shaped like a V sideways.

Step 8: Now include the pelvic fin under the body, behind the pectoral fin. Also, draw a second dorsal fin behind the first one that looks like a smaller triangle and an anal fin that is located near the tail, just behind the pelvic fin. Create another V-shaped pectoral fin on the other side, below the head.

Step 9: Add gills with short, curved lines behind the head. Then show the nose using tiny circles and pointed teeth that look like tiny triangles arranged in a row.

Step 10: Give eyes with a small circle.

Step 11: Darken the eye, leaving the top free to show the pupil.

Step 12: A wide-mouth shark drawing is completed.
