Here is an easy step by step how to draw a pocket compass drawing tutorial. 

Step 1: Draw a circle first.

Step 2: Now draw an outline around it.

Step 3: Now make another circle slightly below the top, almost touching the sides and extending outside visibly after travelling a short distance. Remember, you don’t complete the circle, leaving a tiny portion free.

Step 4: Add a rounded square-like design on the space left in the outer circle.

Step 5: Make an oval beneath it, sideways.

Step 6: Draw a tiny oval under the square. It lies inside the oval on its upper part. 

Step 7: Now create a little oval inside the main oval.

Step 8: Inside the square and oval draw a small horizontal line.

Step 9: Now create a cover from glass, with an oval attached to the side.

Step 10: Draw the rounded curve for the glass part of the lid. 

Step 11: With an oval, draw narrow edges for the lid.

Step 12: Finish the glass part of the lid with a large rounded curve.

Step 13: Draw double circular lines inside the section of the body, at the base.

Step 14: Sketch a sharp, needle pointing downwards with a tiny round thing to hold it strong.

Step 15: Draw three arms in the shape of small, narrow triangles. One is above the needle, and the rest two lie on either side of the round part of the needle.

Step 16: Between those triangles, make even smaller, and thin triangles, which are another four arms.

Step 17: Add tiny markings on the outer corner of the base using vertical lines.

Step 18: Between those markings, create little markings like in a wrist watch.

Step 19: Draw small lines crossing the triangles in the upper and side big arms that are needle shaped.

Step 20: Now mark the directions by writing in block letters.

Step 21: A vintage pocket compass drawing is over.
