We all have a body

Each and every one is special too.

But mine is all for me,

And yours is for only you.

My hands can play nicely.

My hands can be shared kindly.

My hands should not snatch or hit.

I’ll keep them to myself, and I’ll try not to forget.

My feet are good for helping me walk.

My feet are good for helping me run, jump, and hop.

But my feet should not kick or leave the ground.

I’ll play carefully when others are closely around.

My mouth smiles widely at things I find neat.

My mouth chews food quickly at things that are sweet.

My mouth should never bite anything but food.

Not people, nor toys, as that would be rude.

My lungs help me breathe the air that I need.

My lungs help me to talk, to sing, and to read.

My lungs should not be used to scream or shout,

Unless I’m in pain or if an emergency comes about.

My head holds many great and creative thoughts.

My head can think a lot and a lot.

But heads should not ram into one another.

That is only for rhinos and dinos to do to each other.

My ears are great for listening to fun stories.

My ears are great for hearing lots of new noises.

For important information, my ears should be open,

I won’t keep secrets, especially with bad words in them.

And the bits between my legs are only for me.

I will say ‘no’ if anyone asks to touch or see.

Keeping them private and to myself is a must.

And if I have any worries, I’ll tell an adult I trust.

My body is my own, a special temple just for me.

I’ll try to keep it safe, nurtured, and happy.

My body is loved, and my voice should be heard.

My body should be respected, as everybody deserves.
