OUR ABILITIES | Free Children Book
Nov 27, 2025
At nursery, every child is unique—and every ability is celebrated. Some friends use wheels, some speak with their hands, others need a little extra time or help. But together they laugh, play, and support one another with kindness. This heart-warming free illustrated kids’ book introduces little readers to different abilities in a simple, positive way. It gently teaches children about inclusion, empathy, and friendship, showing that everyone has something special to share.

At my nursery, there are people of all kinds.
We all have different abilities, from our bodies to our minds.

Ryan is the best at touching the rugby ball down.
And he uses wheels, instead of legs, to get around.

Mariza cannot hear, so she signs with her hands,
We all know how to, so we know all of her imaginative stories and plans.

Carlos wears glasses and looks different to me,
And his smile can make everyone fill up with glee.

When something changes too quickly, Axel can get a bit upset.
Together, we all take deep breaths to help ourselves reset.

We all patiently wait for Sophie before we begin playing again,
Sometimes she has to leave to take medicine from a special pen.

Riley needs assistance with walking and talking too,
But she loves to make magical music for us all to dance to.

Kristoff is a genius at doing puzzles when it’s time to play,
He also has a dog that looks for him and helps him guide the way.

Malike cannot always control his movements and words,
But he can fly through math questions like a super-speedy bird.

There are lots of people with disabilities, some of whom you can see and some of whom you cannot.
So we should treat everyone with the same kindness that we all have.
