“Happy birthday to me. Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday to Lexa! Happy birthday to me!” It’s Lexa’s birthday, and she is so happy. She is excited about her party.

What does Lexa do first? She starts by cleaning her house. She wants to make sure it is clean before her friends come to her party.

Now, what does Lexa do? She puts Bella’s beautiful cake in the middle of her table. She has lots of balloons. She starts to blow up the balloons. But there is a knock at the door: Knock! Knock! Knock!

Lexa walks towards her front door and says, “I wonder who this is?” She opens her front door. Can you guess who it is? It’s Bella the Elephant.

“Hi Bella,” says Lexa. “You’re early!” “I want to help you get ready for your party,” says Bella. “What can I do to help?” “Can you help me blow up my balloons?” asks Lexa.

“Do you see this trunk?” asks Bella as she points to her trunk. “I can blow up a tyre with this trunk. Watch this!”

Bella puts the opening of the balloon around the end of her trunk. Woosh! The balloon is full of air with just one blow from her trunk. “Wow!” says Lexa. “That’s amazing!”

Bella continues to blow up the balloons. Then Lexa ties a string to the end of each balloon. Now she and Bella tie the balloons to the chairs around Lexa’s table.

They are finished making the balloons. They hear a knock at the door: Knock! Knock! Knock! “More of your friends are knocking on your front door,” says Bella.

Lexa and Bella go to the front door. Lexa opens the door, and Sophie, Josh, and Tom all shout, “Happy Birthday, Lexa!” They each carry a gift. “Come in,” says Lexa.

Lexa almost closes the door, but she hears a voice say, “Hey, wait for me!” It’s Ashley the Rabbit. She has a gift also. “Hi Ashley,” says Lexa. “Sorry, I didn’t see you there. Please come in.”

Now Lexa’s house is getting quite full! There is Sophie, Josh, Tom, Ashley, Bella and Lexa. Who else is there? Just then, they hear a loud noise.

They all run into Lexa’s front room. The noise is coming from the fireplace. There is a lot of black stuff coming down from inside the fireplace. “What is this?” asks Lexa.

Now they hear two voices. “Help! Help!” cry the voices. “Who is that?” asks Lexa. Just then they hear a plop: it’s a banana peel. “I think I know who that is!” says Lexa.

There is another plop, but this time it’s not a banana peel. It’s Baba the Monkey. He falls down into the fireplace, and he is covered in black from head to toe!

But wait!  There is another voice: “Help! Help!” And now there is another plop. It’s not a banana peel, and it’s not Baba. It’s Jojo the Bear, and he’s covered in black too!
“Just look at you two!” says Lexa. “You’re both covered in black!” “We wanted to surprise you,” says Baba. “You two are so naughty!” says Lexa. “We must get you cleaned up!”
After Baba and Jojo are all clean again, the party can start. Everyone sits around the table, and now they sing “Happy Birthday” to Lexa. She blows out her candles, and everyone claps.

Lexa opens her gifts. She is very happy, and everyone has fun. Baba and Jojo find ribbons and bows and tie them around their heads. They look silly. “You two are so naughty!” says Lexa.
