One sunny day, a little monkey was swinging from tree to tree.
“Wheee!” he laughed.
He jumped on branches… pulled leaves…
and made funny faces at the birds.
A butterfly flew by.
The monkey chased it!
“Wait for me!” he giggled.
Then he spotted some hanging fruits.
Yum!
He grabbed one… then two… then three!
“Snack time!” he said, with a cheeky smile.
Suddenly… he heard a sound.
Buzzzzz… buzzzz…
“Ooooh! What is that?” he said, tilting his head.
Near the tree was a big beehive.
An old owl sitting nearby said,
“Don’t go there, little monkey. It’s not safe.”
But the monkey giggled.
“I’m not scared! I just want to see,” he said.
He crept closer… and poked the hive with a stick.
Suddenly—
BUZZ! BUZZ! BUZZ!
Bees flew out everywhere!
“Aaaah!” the monkey shouted.
He jumped, flipped, and ran as fast as he could!
Splash!
He leaped into a nearby pond and hid in the cool water.
Only his little nose peeked out!
The bees buzzed above… then flew away.
The monkey slowly came out, dripping wet.
“Brrr… that was scary,” he said softly.
The owl looked at him kindly.
The monkey sighed, “I should have listened.”
From that day on, the little monkey still played and had fun…
…but he listened when someone warned him.
Moral: It’s important to listen to good advice.
