Bella and Baba have a new friend: Jojo the Bear. Baba helps to keep Bella’s garden clean, and Jojo gets honey from the old tree. Then he takes it to Bella so that she can cook with it.
“Sure,” says Baba. “We can do that for you,” says Jojo. “Just be careful with it,” says Bella. “Walk slowly and don’t drop it, okay?” “We’ll do our best,” says Baba.
Baba and Jojo leave Bella’s house. Baba goes first because he knows the way to Lexa’s house. Jojo follows behind Baba, carrying the cake in a box, and he walks very slowly.
Baba and Jojo can both be naughty sometimes. And hungry too! They sit down to rest, and you can guess what happens. Soon the cake will be gone. Naughty!
They walk back to Bella’s house. “What happened?” asked Bella. “A big bad wolf jumped out from behind a tree,” says Baba. “And he stole the cake,” says Jojo.
So Bella bakes another cake for Lexa. Baba and Jojo leave again. After they walk for a while, they are tired. They sit down. They are hungry. You can guess what happens: they eat the cake!
They go back to Bella’s house. This time Jojo says, “A big eagle came down out of the sky.” “We were scared, and he stole the cake right out of Jojo’s hands,” says Baba.
Bella is an elegant elephant. She is also a smart elephant; she thinks she knows what is happening to the cakes. She bakes a third cake and says, “Be very careful this time.”
Baba and Jojo leave Bella’s house for the third time. Baba walks ahead of Jojo, who carries the cake. After a while, they are tired, hungry, and naughty. They sit down.
Baba and Jojo look at the box. They look at each other. “Do you think we can eat three cakes?” asks Jojo. “Why not?” asks Baba. “Bella believes anything we tell her.” Naughty monkey!
Jojo starts to open the box. Baba and Jojo move their hands towards the tasty-looking cake inside the box. They are just about to take a piece of cake. Suddenly, they hear a roar!
They jump up from the ground! The cake is floating in the air! Baba and Jojo cannot believe it! A floating cake! The roar scares Baba and Jojo, but now they are even more scared!
A voice says, “So you think you can trick Bella?” Baba and Jojo do not know who is talking. “It is very naughty to eat a birthday cake that does not belong to you!”
Just then, Baba remembers something. He knows Lexa the Tiger. And Lexa can become invisible and disappear. “Lexa?” asks Baba. “Is that you?”
Lexa is no longer invisible. Now Baba and Jojo understand why the cake is floating in the air. It is because Lexa is holding it above their heads. And now there is more trouble: Bella is here!
Baba and Jojo both say, “Bella!” “How many cakes can the two of you eat?” says Bella. She is not a very happy elephant. “And then you tell me stories about a wolf and an eagle!” she says.
“I ask Lexa to become invisible,” says Bella. “She sees that you want to eat the third cake. But she tricks you, just like you trick me! She is invisible, and she holds the cake up in the air!
Baba and Jojo are very sorry. Lexa thanks Bella for the cake, and then she goes home. Bella takes Baba and Jojo home. “There is a lot of work at my house for you two naughty boys!”
